VITA…
-
Vision - Realising you want to change. Understanding that you need to change, deciding to make the change. This is the vision.
-
Inspire - This is where you and I work together to create a plan. We establish what’s going to work with your current lifestyle, and what we need to do to get you to where you want to be.
-
Train - Time to put in the work, consistency is key. It’s not all gym work and treadmills, but ultimately the work must be done by you, both when it comes to movement, and in the kitchen. This time though, you have me on your team.
-
Achieve - Results. Work with me, commit to the process, follow the steps, stay consistent and you WILL achieve results.
Who am I to be the one to help you? What makes me different from everyone else? Well up until 6 years ago I was an unhappy, 21 stone, smoking alcoholic with an unhealthy obsession with takeaways. I know how it feels to feel like it’s a hopeless task. I know how it feels to think it’s simply too much work. I know how it feels to be looking at the metaphorical mountain that lies ahead and despairing at the challenge that lies ahead, not knowing where to start or how to take the first step.
What I also know, is that it can be done. I slipped 3 discs in my back, and it was at this point I knew I had to change or risk my time on this earth being much shorter lived than I wanted it to be. So, I did just that, I joined a gym, I made myself accountable, I took control of my nutrition, and I started moving more.
Getting healthier can change your life, it can open doors for you that you never thought possible and can increase your standard of life. But you need to act, you need to act. Only you can make the decision to move forward.

I can spend time trying to explain to you why I'm the coach for you, but I find it much easier to let others discuss their experiences with me.

“I have always struggled to maintain my weight and body shape. I had been 20 stone and big most of my life and found in the last 4 years that investing in a personal trainer makes a massive difference! I have been lucky enough throughout these years to have had 3 different trainers all bringing something different to my learning and journey.
So why is Chris the best?? And he is! When joining the club I talked to various team members about personal training and general training but without doubt Chris had the personal journey that resonated with me, he understood my bad relationship with food, the ups and downs of weight management after being bigger himself and most of all he wanted to support me to reach my goals. Since training with Chris my entire fitness has improved, I’ve lost 5 inches off my waist, 4 inches off my chest and now entirely focus on body shape and a feeling of fitness, I stopped weighing myself and feel happier and fitter than I’ve ever felt.
Chris develops training ideas alongside me that reflect my personal preferences, he’s adaptable and his availability works perfectly around my work schedule, he will make training fun and interesting, he knows how to get the best from someone and help them get the best from themselves. Where Chris really stands out is his support outside of the gym, he is always there to ask a question, give advice and generally listen, his personal experiences enable him to help with nutrition advice that is realistic and measured, it really is about moderation, boring but true! Thanks Chris for being great!”

Thirteen years ago, at the age of 40 and following an operation, I started to get pain in my hip joint. Following a diagnosis of Arthritis, it seemed like one joint went down after another – the other hip, a knee, an ankle and the spine. I was in so much pain my mobility suffered and I piled on the weight. So I joined a gym. I regularly got programmes, but rarely stuck to them because they hurt! I had even started to look at having a stair lift installed! Then I met Chris.
I was 8 weeks post op following a hysterectomy and desperate to get back to normal, but still dubious as to whether I could commit to an exercise programme in my physical condition. The first thing that struck me about Chris was his kindness and refusal to accept all the negative comments I made about myself during the session, skillfully turning them into positives and making me feel good about my workout.
The second, and perhaps most important thing, is how knowledgeable he is! This guy really knows his stuff. It wasn’t just an exercise programme I got that day, it was like having a personal physiotherapist. I started with a very gentle, but progressive programme, addressing all my physical issues and day by day I noticed how much stronger, fitter and pain free I was becoming. Very quickly my vocabulary changed from ‘I don’t think I can do that ’ to ‘I’ve smashed it!’.
He is gentle, he won’t force you to do an exercise you hate, but will find a different one. On top of all of this, he is also great fun and incredibly motivating. He has helped me strengthen my muscles to support my joints, lose weight and regain control of my Arthritis and my body! We jokingly refer to him as St Christopher at home, but seriously, I could not recommend him highly enough.

“I started training with Chris in an effort to lose some weight, improve my fitness levels and generally tone up. Using kettlebells, slam ball, steps, ropes and various bodyweight exercises, together with HIIT my overall strength and fitness improved in a short space of time. I was able to perform exercises I would never have attempted on my own. Each workout is tailored to you, so you can achieve exactly what you have discussed. I have learnt so much from Chris, he is willing to share his expert knowledge and answer any questions you come up with. His tips on nutrition are excellent and his dedication is clear. Chris is energetic, fun, committed and inspirational and I would recommend him as a personal trainer.”
